5 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Ito Smith had six carries for a team-high 31 yards in Sunday's 28-12 loss to the Vikings. Smith was more effective than starting running back Devonta Freeman, who gained just 19 yards on eight carries. Smith also caught his only target in the passing game for nine yards. This could be a situation to monitor going forward if Freeman continues to struggle. However, it may have just been a shake-off-the-rust game for Freeman, who played just two games last year, and it was also a tough matchup in a tough environment.
