Israel Adesanya Loses Middleweight Belt By Unanimous Decision
2 years agoAfter a lackluster showing and losing to Sean Strickland, it's safe to say that it was not the performance Israel Adesanya would have hoped for on Saturday. Tallying 94 significant strikes in the contest, he was on the losing end of a unanimous decision on Saturday, which took place at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia. Strickland's counter-attacking style was effective with Strickland landing the more telling shots throughout the fight, while Adesanya struggled to find a way to hurt Strickland. Despite Adesanya losing 49-46 across all three scorecards when the fight was over, Dana White expressed interest in running it back again, as he believes that to be the most logical conclusion for the middleweight division.
