Detroit Pistons point guard Ish Smith scored 11 points in 29 minutes of action against the Nets on Wednesday, going 5-for-11 from the field and adding in three assists. Despite playing nearly 30 minutes, Smith isn't a hugely intriguing fantasy player unless he can start to offer more production across the board. He'll look to provide solid value on Saturday against a Bulls defense that struggled last season, but Smith's fantasy value is likely to remain fairly dependent on matchups.--Justin Carter - RotoBaller

Denver Nuggets guard Ish Smith (calf) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the New York Knicks. This shouldn't come as a surprise considering Smith hasn't played in two weeks. His absence won't make too big of an impact on the rotation. However, the Nuggets are going to be shorthanded for this game with Nikola Jokic, Aaron Gordon, and Bones Hyland sidelined. Bruce Brown should see around 30 minutes of action with the Nuggets shorthanded. He'll be an interesting streaming option in the short term.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

The Denver Nuggets have acquired guard/forward Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and point guard Ish Smith in a trade with the Washington Wizards. The Nuggets sent guard Monte Morris and forward Will Barton to Washington in the deal. KCP figures to be a key wing for the Nuggets in 2022-23. Last year, the versatile veteran averaged 13.2 points, 2.1 three-pointers and 1.1 steals per game while shooting 39% from three-point range. Smith, meanwhile, will help give the Nuggets point guard depth behind Jamal Murray, who is expected to make his long-awaited return at the start of the upcoming season.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller

Charlotte Hornets guard Ish Smith is not listed on the injury report ahead of Friday's game with the Portland Trail Blazers. Smith is poised to make his return to the court for the first time since Dec. 5. LaMelo Ball is questionable and would take a big chunk of Smith's fantasy value if he is able to go. If not, Smith would likely assume the starting point guard role, assuming his conditioning is up to par.--Dale Johnson

Charlotte Hornets guard Ish Smith has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. He'll remain sidelined due to the league's safety protocols. The Hornets have been crushed with players entering the COVID list. That being said, Terry Rozier, Miles Bridges, and Gordon Hayward will be asked to carry the workload. All three of them are worth looking at in DFS contests while the Hornets are shorthanded. It's unlikely Smith has much value once he returns.
