Isan Diaz Hits A Grand Slam On Friday
4 years agoMiami Marlins second baseman Isan Diaz hit a grand slam in Friday's 6-1 win over the Milwaukee Brewers. Diaz went 2-for-3 with a walk, a single, and the long ball. He ended up with a run scored and four RBI. Diaz was awful in spring training this season and got off to a rough start in the regular season as well, as he was hitless as recently as five days ago. He's heating up though and is now hitting .238 with a .917 OPS. He has no chance to unseat Jazz Chisholm (hamstring) for the starting job when Jazz is healthy, but if Diaz is finally showing that he can hit at the big league level, he may force the Marlins hand and could potentially work his way into the lineup much more often. Diaz struggles defensively, so it may be too much to expect him to make a move to third base, but it's something the team may consider if he continues to hit well.
