Isan Diaz Headed Back To Triple-A
4 years agoMiami Marlins second baseman Isan Diaz is heading back to Triple-A after an incredibly disappointing spring performance. Diaz came into spring training with the starting second base job essentially handed to him and then proceeded to get just two hits in the entirety of Grapefruit League play. Diaz ended the spring with a .059 batting average and essentially forced the Marlins to give the job to pretty much anyone else. That anyone else just so happened to be one of the team's top hitting prospects, Jazz Chisholm. Diaz will return to Triple-A where he hit .305/.395/.578 in 2019. He's proven everything necessary in the minor leagues, but he's only hit .174/.251/.294 in 56 big league games. It may seem like a lot to say for a guy in his age 25 season, but this could be a big make-or-break year for Diaz.
