Isaiah Hodgins To Become A Free Agent
1 year agoNew York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins is not expected to be tendered as a restricted free agent and will hit the open market, according to a source. The 25-year-old wideout showed major promise upon initially joining the Giants midway through the 2022 season, when he had 351 receiving yards and four touchdowns in eight games played. Hodgins came back down to Earth in 2023, though, as he caught just 21 passes on 33 targets for 230 yards and three touchdowns in 17 games (nine starts) in New York's dysfunctional offense. He could return to the Giants on a lesser deal for the 2024 season, but wherever the former sixth-round pick of the Buffalo Bills in 2020 lands, he'll function as more of receiver depth than as an actual starter.

Isaiah Hodgins Returning To Active Roster
5 months agoNew York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins will be elevated from the practice squad for the second straight week. The Giants are going to once again be shorthanded at wideout with Malik Nabers (concussion) being sidelined for another week. Last week, Hodgins came up but only played 24 offensive snaps. It seems a bit odd that they didn't involve Hodgins more considering he was a part-time starter last season. He finished with 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns in 2023 with the Giants. Hodgins could see more snaps this week, but remains off the fantasy radar for Week 6.

Isaiah Hodgins Elevated From Practice Squad
5 months agoNew York Giants wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. Hodgins started with the Giants last season, but failed to make the 53-man roster out of training camp. Despite that, Hodgins decided to remain with the organization and go to the practice squad. He'll be elevated for the first time this season with fellow wideout Malik Nabers (concussion) ruled out. Hodgins hauled in 21 receptions for 230 yards and three touchdowns across 17 games last season. He figures to be a depth option behind Wan'Dale Robinson and Darius Slayton in this offense.

Giants Waive Isaiah Hodgins
7 months agoThe New York Giants are waiving wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins, who has accumulated 54 receptions for 581 yards and seven touchdowns during his time in New York. Drafted out of Oregon State by the Buffalo Bills in the sixth round of the 2020 draft, Hodgins was claimed by the Giants two seasons ago and made an immediate impact, recording 33 receptions for 351 yards and four touchdowns. Although he remained productive last season, his role diminished with the addition of younger talent, resulting in just nine starts and 33 targets. While Hodgins shows promise as a possession receiver, his lack of contributions on special teams has likely influenced the decision to waive him. At 25, he should attract interest from teams seeking depth at wide receiver.

Isaiah Hodgins The Odd Man Out?
10 months agoWhen New York Giants wide receiver Darius Slayton returned to voluntary organized team activities this week, fellow wideout Isaiah Hodgins appeared to be the odd man out. Slayton didn't miss a beat in his return to the field, either, catching a crossing route from quarterback Daniel Jones in a 7-on-7 period and also catching two passes from backup Drew Lock. Hodgins had a quiet practice on Thursday after being the leading first-team receiver last week. Slot receiver Wan'Dale Robinson continues to be moved around the field. After the Giants took LSU wideout Malik Nabers in the first round of this year's NFL draft, Hodgins' stock immediately took a hit. In addition to Robinson, Jalin Hyatt also figures to have a bigger role in the offense in 2024.
