Is Ricky Stenhouse Jr. A Core Play This Weekend At COTA?
8 months agoRicky Stenhouse Jr. will start P30 in Sunday's EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix at Circuits of the Americas (COTA). While Stenhouse is always a bit of a wild card, particularly outside of NASCAR's superspeedways, he is always a driver to consider when building DFS lineups. In 2023, Stenhouse appeared in the DraftKings optimal lineup nine times, which was the sixth most of any driver. Likewise, since the launch of the NextGen car in 2022, Stenhouse has appeared in the DraftKings optimal lineup on road courses four times, which is tied for the second most of any driver in the series (Chris Buescher is first with six). Because he has just one top-10 finish in 36 Cup starts on road courses, he may be overlooked in DFS this weekend, which makes him even more appealing for our roster builds. Between his ridiculously low $5,500 DraftKings salary, the fact that his starting position provides place differential upside, and that his DFS history is better than what his actual finishes suggest, I feel like Ricky Stenhouse is a core play this weekend at COTA.
