Is Austin Cindric Worth Rostering At Daytona?
2 days agoTeam Penske's Austin Cindric will start second in this year's Daytona 500 after setting the second-fastest time in qualifying. Cindric also participated in the second Daytona Duel race, where he won after leading five laps in a photo finish against Erik Jones. In seven Cup starts at Daytona, Cindric has four top-20 finishes, with two top-5 finishes, including a win in the 2022 Daytona 500. In first practice, Cindric ranked 25th in single lap averages, while in second practice his single lap time ranked 11th and his 10 consecutive lap average ranked sixth of all drivers. In final practice, Cindric's single lap time and overall lap average ranked 21st of all drivers. Despite amazing equipment that regularly competes for wins at superspeedways, his past history as a winner who led in four different Daytona events, and his performance in the Duel, Cindric is a massive DFS risk because of his starting position. Cindric is a driver who should be avoided for all cash games due to almost no place differential upside, and even in tournaments, there are safer and more affordable alternative DFS options available than the No. 2 Ford driver.
