Is A.J. Allmendinger A Viable DFS Option For Martinsville?
2 days agoA.J. Allmendinger of Kaulig Racing will start 23rd for Sunday's Cook Off 400 at Martinsville Speedway. It will be Allmendinger's fourth start outside of the top 20 at the Virginia short track since 2022. In 25 starts at Martinsville, Allmendinger has 14 top-20 finishes, with his last one being earned in 2018. With six races completed so far this season, Allmendinger has three top-15 finishes, including the last two Cup events. In practice, Allmendinger ranked seventh in overall lap averages but failed to rank inside the top 25 on speed in all other categories. Although Allmendinger starts in the back half of the field with potential upside, he is a risk for DFS due to his poor history at Martinsville with the Next-Gen car since 2022. Allmendinger is only recommended for tournament lineups based on his recent 2025 season-wide performance so far, but there are also better DFS alternatives with more upside around his price range ($6,000) who are available to roster.
