Is A.J. Allmendinger A Value Play In DFS At Indianapolis?
3 months agoA.J. Allmendinger will start 15th in the Brickyard 400 from Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Known as a road course ringer, and given that he won the 2021 road course race here, Allmendinger is probably one of the few drivers that are disappointed that NASCAR is returning to the oval configuration for this year's race. Nevertheless, while the traditional oval may not be the 17-year veteran's specialty, he does have 10 Cup starts on this layout, which gives him an advantage over most of the field in Sunday's race. Likewise, the fact that he got to run an Xfinity race here on Saturday must also be considered a positive as it gave him even more laps and track time, experience that further separates him from a majority of this weekend's slate. While his starting position does slightly hurt his value, his experience and affordable DraftKings salary ($6,600), still make him a value play in DFS this weekend.
