Indians Reach Extension With Carlos Carrasco
6 years agoThe Cleveland Indians exercised starting pitcher Carlos Carrasco's $10.25 million option for the 2020 season and signed him to a two-year extension for 2021 and 2022 with a vesting option for the 2023 season, according to sources. Between Carrasco, Corey Kluber and Trevor Bauer, Carrasco has the best chance of sticking with the Tribe this offseason, and this extension further solidifies that sentiment. Carrasco has somewhat been overshadowed by the dominance of Kluber as the team's ace, but the 31-year-old would be an ace with most other teams. He went 17-10 with a 3.38 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 231 K's in 192 innings (30 starts) in 2018 for the Indians. He'll be an excellent second fantasy starter in 2019.
