2 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin made 33 saves and allowed two goals in Sunday's 2-1 loss against the Hurricanes. Sorokin surrendered goals to Hurricanes forwards Jesperi Kotkaniemi and Jordan Martinook in the contest, but the Islanders did not provide the offensive support to build their lead in the Eastern Conference wild card race. Sorokin is having an excellent season and he is a strong candidate to be a finalist for the Vezina Trophy, as he has a .923 save percentage, a 2.38 goals against average, five shutouts and a record of 28-27-1 through 58 appearances.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
