Ilya Sorokin Extends Series With Game 5 Victory
2 years agoNew York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin stopped 34-of-36 shots on goal in Tuesday's 3-2 victory against the Hurricanes in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. Sorokin surrendered even-strength goals in the second and third period while keeping the Hurricanes from scoring on each of their four power-play chances in the contest. Sorokin has performed well throughout the series while posting a save percentage of .923 and goals against average of 2.57 through five games, and the Islanders will return home for Game 6 on Friday night as they look to force a deciding seventh game.
