Washington Capitals goaltender Ilya Samsonov saved 25 of 27 shots against the Calgary Flames on Sunday in a 4-2 win. The rookie netminder was beaten twice in the opening period, but the remained perfect for the rest of the way, producing 19 straight saves. Samsonov has made a superb start to his career in the league, putting together a 5-1-0 record in six appearances. He carries a 2.38 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. Braden Holtby has played a lot of hockey over the years, but it looks like the Caps finally have a viable backup for him in Samsonov.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
