1 year agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov stopped 27-of-29 shots on goal in Friday's 3-2 victory against the Red Wings in the 2023 NHL Global Series. Samsonov had a productive opening frame with the game scoreless early on, but he surrendered two goals in the second period with Red Wings forwards Daniel Sprong and Lucas Raymond finding the back of the net. Samsonov made timely saves in the final frame and the Maple Leafs scored three goals to pull off the comeback. Samsonov has played well in consecutive games with two goals against in each contest to show signs of improvement for fantasy managers, while the 26-year-old netminder has posted a 2-0-1 record to go along with a 3.00 goals against average and .912 save percentage through four starts in the month of November.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller
