Toronto Maple Leafs goaltender Ilya Samsonov stopped 20-of-22 shots on goal in Thursday's 7-2 victory against the Lightning in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference first-round series. Samsonov had a rough performance in the first game of the series as he allowed six goals on 29 shots as the Lightning, but the 26-year-old had an important bounce back performance as the Maple Leafs responded with a blowout victory to even up the series. Samsonov will look to carry the momentum from the victory into the next contest as the Lightning host Game 3 on Saturday night.--Denis Vondrus - RotoBaller

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov (upper body) will be unavailable on Saturday against the Calgary Flames. He continues to nurse an upper-body injury sustained during the warm-ups before last Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Nashville Predators. Samsonov's absence has come at a bad time for the Golden Knights, as the team has a back-to-back scheduled for a second consecutive weekend. Akira Schmid is the likely starter for Saturday's contest, while Adin Hill should return to the crease for Sunday's matchup against the Vancouver Canucks. Samsonov is sporting a 16-9-3 record for the season with two shutouts, a 2.79 goals-against average, and a .892 save percentage.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov (upper body) is considered day-to-day and may not be available for Tuesday's meeting with the Edmonton Oilers. The Russian netminder was a late scratch on Saturday against the Nashville Predators when he was scheduled to start. Adin Hill ended up playing for a second consecutive day, delivering a 23-save performance in a 3-1 victory. Samsonov has put in solid work as Hill's backup all season, posting a 16-9-3 record. He has picked up two shutouts while allowing 2.79 goals with a .892 save percentage. Akira Schmid has been called up from the minors to step into the lineup on Tuesday if needed.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov will make his 28th start of the season in Sunday's matchup against Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Tampa Bay Lightning. This will be his third appearance of the month. Things haven't gone well recently for Samsonov, who has dropped two decisions in a row, allowing three goals in both games. He holds a 15-9-3 record for the season with a 2.81 goals-against average, a .889 save percentage, and two shutouts. While Samsonov has not been a reliable fantasy option lately, he is expected to deliver the goods on Sunday, with Vegas boasting a very good home record. Samsonov has picked up both of his shutouts this season in home outings, going 8-3-1 in 12 starts.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Ilya Samsonov stopped all 31 shots he faced en route to shutting out the Calgary Flames on Sunday evening. The Knights claimed the lead in the second frame and Samsonov was able to keep the door shut throughout. The backup goaltender is now riding a four-game win streak. Over this impressive stretch he has posted a stellar .948% SV with a 1.25 GAA. Before this span, Samsonov allowed 16 goals over his previous four starts and carried a 3.96 GAA. While the 27-year-old will continue to operate as the No.2 option behind Adin Hill, he may eventually begin to carve out a larger role given his strong play over the past month. For now, fantasy managers in standard formats should consider streaming Samsonov in favorable matchups.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
