Ian Poulter Must Putt Well To Have A Shot At Travelers
3 years agoThe putter and his decent drives deserted Ian Poulter a bit at the US Open and PGA tournaments. That cost him a couple of top-20 finishes, at the very least. He fared much better at the Charles Schwab, where he nearly won the whole darn thing behind a weekend where he shot 64-68. It would have been enough most weeks, but Poulter finished tied for third. Kind of like the Charles Schwab, Poulter will not have to hammer the daylights out of the ball, he just has to use his eighth-ranked putting skills to the maximum. Otherwise, he will fall too far behind to contend.
