Ian Machado Garry suffered a five-round decision loss to Shavkat Rakhmonov in a No. 1 contender fight at UFC 310. Garry took the fight on short notice and early on, he struggled with Rakhmonov's strength in the clinch. The Irishman did start to have success in the third round on the feet. Then, in the fifth round, he got ahold of Rakhmonov's back and nearly submitted him but Rakhmonov was able to fight out of it. With the loss, Garry fell to 15-1 as a pro but remains a top five welterweight.--Cole Shelton

Ian Machado Garry (15-0) is set to take on Shavkat Rakhmonov in the co-main event of UFC 310. Garry was supposed to headline UFC Tampa next week but moved up a week after Belal Muhammad withdrew from his title defense, so he now takes on Rakhmonov for a No. 1 contender fight. The Irishman enters the bout as an underdog as DraftKings has him at a salary of $7,000. In the UFC, Garry is 8-0 with three wins by knockout as if he can pull off the upset, he'll get a title fight next--Cole Shelton

Ian Machado Garry (14-0) is set to take on Michael Page in the main card opener of UFC 303 on Saturday. Garry is coming off a decision win over Geoff Neal in February and enters the bout against Page as the slight favorite as DraftKings has him at a salary of $8,200. The Irishman is a counter striker who is 7-0 in the UFC, but takes on Page who is also a counter strikes, which could lead for this to being a boring fight. In the UFC, three of his seven wins have come by knockout, with the other four by decision. However, if Garry can beat the Bellator veteran, the Irishman should get a top-five opponent next and be a win or two away from a title shot. --Cole Shelton
