6 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Ian Kinsler (neck) has been placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to Aug. 13. Kinsler is dealing with a herniated disc in his neck, so his season could very well be over. The Padres would likely rather use their young players anyway over a struggling veteran. Ty France will play second base and bat seventh versus righty Vince Velasquez on Friday. France didn't do much in his first taste of the majors earlier this year, but he was lighting it up offensively at Triple-A El Paso and is worth a look in deep mixed and NL-only leagues now that he's likely to be playing every day with both Kinsler and Fernando Tatis Jr. (back) expected to miss the rest of the season.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
