Ian Kinsler Blasts Braves
6 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Ian Kinsler went 3-for-6 with a homer and two doubles in Thursday’s blowout win against the Atlanta Braves. Padres manager Andy Green’s questionable persistence to continue starting Kinsler and batting him leadoff finally paid off as he scored three times and drove in two, raising his OPS from .479 to .566 in the process. Despite his best game of the season, Kinsler’s numbers and expected stats have been remarkably poor, making him a non-factor in fantasy. The primary loser of Kinsler’s big game is infield prospect Luis Urias, who will probably have to wait a bit longer in Triple-A despite mashing .356/.433/.847 with seven homers in the minors this season.
