Ian Kennedy Knocks Down Second Save
6 years agoKansas City Royals relief pitcher Ian Kennedy may have finally found his calling. Though he's making a ridiculous $14 million a year, Kennedy's work in the bullpen has at least finally returned a little value. Kennedy's velocity is up, and his ERA is way down at 1.15 after the first month of the season. Kennedy notched his second save of the year on Wednesday as he finished an exciting inning against the Rays, and in a bullpen that has been an absolute dumpster fire this season, Kennedy is one of the few bright spots. He's rocking a gaudy K-BB rate of 31 percent, which is in the neighborhood of elites like Felipe Vazquez. Don't be surprised if Kennedy ends up taking the closing gig on a more permanent basis in KC.
