Ian Kennedy Gives Up Homer In First Appearance
5 years agoKansas City Royals closer Ian Kennedy was hit hard in his first appearance of the spring, surrendering two runs in his short stint. Kennedy was a surprise reclamation project last season when he converted from being one of the worst starters in the league to being a solid a closer. In his first full season as a reliever, Kennedy recorded 30 saves, the highest strikeout rate of his career, and his lowest walk rate in nearly a decade. The veteran also allowed less than 1.00 home runs per nine innings for the first time in five years. The pressure will be on for Kennedy to hang on to the progress he made, but he should work as a middle-of-the-road closer in most fantasy leagues.
