Ian Happ Dealing With Calf Injury
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (calf) was removed from Tuesday's matchup with the Pittsburgh Pirates early after his right calf "grabbed on him," according to manager David Ross. The 28-year-old should be considered day-to-day, and Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports that they will continue to see how he's doing Wednesday. Happ's putting together an all-around strong campaign through 65 games, batting .265 with five homers, 23 runs, 27 RBI, and five steals. If the former ninth-overall draft pick is forced to miss some action, expect Christopher Morel to see more playing time. The 23-year-old has gone deep 11 times already over 26 games while batting .267, so he looks like a solid waiver-wire option if he's still available.
