Ian Happ Back In Action Against Pirates
1 year agoChicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ (calf) is back in the team's starting lineup on Tuesday against the first-place Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Osvaldo Bido, who will be making his major-league debut. Happ is serving as the designated hitter and batting cleanup for the Cubbies. The 28-year-old left early on Tuesday with an injury to his right calf, but it obviously wasn't very serious at all, as he's back in there a day later. Happ hasn't been great so far in the month of June, going 6-for-35 (.171) with a homer, five RBI and nine strikeouts in 11 games, but he should be returned to starting lineups in single-year formats against a rookie pitcher. Overall, Happ is hitting .262 (60-for-229) with five homers, 27 RBI and five stolen bases in 2023.
