Ian Desmond Attains 20/20 Season
6 years agoColorado Rockies first baseman/outfielder Ian Desmond stole his 20th base on Tuesday night against the Dodgers, finishing off another 20/20 season. It's the 32-year-old's fifth 20/20 season of his career and an impressive milestone, especially at his age. Unfortunately, his counting stats this season will likely be an afterthought compared to how poorly he's performed in other areas such as his .234 batting average and the worst defense of his career. He's also had a knack for struggling in critical moments, resulting in a large amount of booing from local fans and being labeled a bust. Desmond is on pace to finish the season with the third-worst batting average ever for a 20/20 season, and he'll almost assuredly finish with the worst wRC+ (78) for any 20/20 season.
