Ian Anderson's Walk Rate Trending In The Right Direction
4 years agoAtlanta Braves starting pitcher Ian Anderson has been very good in his last three starts (2.20 ERA, .226 batting average against, .584 OPS against, 14 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings) and has allowed just three walks as well. Anderson's walk rate left a lot to be desired earlier in the year, but it's now trending in the right direction -- 3.72 BB/9 in April, 2.46 in May and 2.61 so far in June. He allowed four earned runs in just four innings to the Boston Red Sox on June 16, too, which goes to show you how good he was in his other two starts against the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. The 23-year-old right-hander is 5-3 overall with a 3.33 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 79:28 K:BB in 14 starts over 75 2/3 innings pitched.
