Ian Anderson Blanks Cubs In Atlanta
4 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Ian Anderson shut down the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday at home. The Braves right-hander went seven scoreless innings and allowed only one single and one walk. Anderson struck out a season-high eight batters while earning his second win of the season. Over two straight scoreless outings, Anderson has gone 13 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings with a 1.02 WHIP and 12 strikeouts. The Braves have struggled to an 11-12 start this season yet they only find themselves half a game out of first place. Anderson is a pitcher on the rise and with Mike Soroka's (shoulder) uncertain return packaged with Max Fried's (hamstring) struggles, Anderson has found himself at the top of the rotation with veteran Charlie Morton while justifying his stature in the rotation with his recent performance.
