Hyun-Jin Ryu Roughed Up By Red Sox
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu was roughed up by the Red Sox on Sunday, allowing seven earned runs over 3 2/3 IP. The veteran southpaw wasn't at his sharpest by surrendering 10 hits and a walk while recording just one strikeout, but his offense bailed him out late to give him a no-decision. Ryu still holds a respectable 3.62 ERA and 1.18 WHIP on the year, but with 103 K in 126 2/3 IP, his inability to miss bats makes him prone to outings like this one if his pitch mix isn't on point. He'll look to rebound in his next scheduled start versus the Mariners.
