Hyun-Jin Ryu Injures Groin
7 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers starter Hyun-Jin Ryu left Thursday night's game with a left groin strain that manager Dave Roberts has described as a "pretty good one." Ryu came into the game with a 3-0 record and a 2.22 ERA and was rolling along with two strikeouts and one walk through 1 1/3 innings when he left the game. He's been the team's best pitcher so far, and the news couldn't have come at a worse time with the team having just lost shortstop Corey Seager to Tommy John surgery earlier in the week. A disabled list stint is likely coming for Ryu, which firstly means that rookie Walker Buehler is staying up for the time being. Ryu's injury could also open up a spot for Ross Stripling or Brock Stewart, neither of whom is interesting from a fantasy perspective.
