Hyun Jin Ryu Fires Four Scoreless Innings In Rehab Start
1 year agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Hyun Jin Ryu (elbow) threw four shutout innings in his rehab start at Low-A Dunedin on Sunday. Ryu threw 37 pitches, 27 of which were strikes, during the outing. He punched out one and maxed out at 88.4 mph. The veteran left-hander has been out all season while recovering from offseason Tommy John surgery so this was a good sign for his progression. If all goes well, he could rejoin the Blue Jays rotation in late July or early August. He put up a 5.67 ERA and 1.33 WHIP over just 27 innings during the 2022 season before injuring his elbow.
