Hunter Strickland To Throw Off A Mound Soon
5 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Hunter Strickland (lat) is expected to resume throwing from a mound by the end of the week. He has been throwing on flat ground for a week or two as he makes his way back from a strained latissimus muscle. Strickland opened the season as the team's closer, nailing down his first two save chances. However, he was injured in the home opener on March 29 against the Boston Red Sox in a blown save and loss, and he has been on the 60-day injured list since. Strickland will likely need a few minor-league rehab appearances, with a potential return in mid- to late June.
