Hunter Strickland To Throw Bullpen On Saturday
5 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Hunter Strickland (lat strain) will throw a bullpen on Saturday, according to Greg Johns of MLB.com. Strickland has been on the injured list since late March and has just recently bumped up his long toss distance to 200 feet. Roenis Elias has taken a grasp of the Mariners closer role with 10 saves and a 3.55 ERA across 38 innings. However, when Strickland returns, he could get thrown back into the mix, especially if Elias falters at any time in the next week before the All-Star break. When Strickland returns, he can stay on waivers for the time being, but be sure to monitor how the Mariners use their bullpen.
