Hunter Strickland Fully Recovered From Back Issues
6 years agoSeattle Mariners relief pitcher Hunter Strickland stated Saturday from Tokyo that his back is "100 percent." Strickland hasn't seen game action since March 3 but will throw in an exhibition game against the Yomiuri Giants on Sunday. The M's begin their season on March 20 against the Oakland Athletics, and all signs point to Strickland getting the ball in the ninth-inning for this game if needed. The hard-throwing right-hander earned 14 saves with the San Francisco Giants in 2018 and will hold down the Mariners closing job in 2019 as long as he's healthy.
