Hunter Strickland Blows Save, Leaves With Possible Injury
6 years agoSeattle Mariners closer Hunter Strickland had a night to forget as he blew the team's 6-4 lead in the ninth inning Friday. Strickland served up a double and then beaned a batter to begin the inning and appeared to have an injury issue afterward. The team's trainer was called to the mound to examine Strickland but remained in the game before serving up a one-out laser beam over the fence off the bat of Mitch Moreland. There may be more to Strickland's health, and the M's should pass along an update later this evening. Strickland dealt with a back issue during spring training but seemed healthy picking up two saves in the Japan games last week.
