Hunter Greene Strikes Out Seven, Earns Win On Monday
5 days agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Hunter Greene tossed a gem in a 2-0 win over the San Francisco Giants on Monday. Greene threw 8 2/3 shutout innings while striking out seven and walking one to pick up his first win of the season, evening his record at 1-1 after three starts. Greene came just one out shy of tossing a complete game but was pulled after putting runners on first and second base with two outs. The 25-year-old hurler has been excellent through three starts this season, allowing just three runs while striking out 23 batters over 20 2/3 innings of work. Greene will next take on the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday.
