Hunter Greene Earns Promotion to Triple-A
4 years agoCincinnati Reds pitching prospect Hunter Greene has been promoted to Triple-A from Double-A. The hard-throwing right-hander was coming off a dominant outing against fellow top prospect Max Meyer (Marlins) in which he struck out nine batters over six shutout innings and stole the show. Greene has shown very little rusty coming off of two-and-a-half lost seasons due to Tommy John surgery and the pandemic. He leaves Double-A with outstanding numbers in seven starts. He posted a 1.98 ERA and allowed just 27 hits in 41 innings. He also had a K-BB ratio of 60-14 after last appearing at the Low-A level in 2018. The second overall pick from the 2017 draft has a high ceiling if he can continue to polish his secondary offerings.
