Hunter Goodman Has Shown Plenty Of Power On The Farm
2 years agoColorado Rockies catcher prospect Hunter Goodman has been a big source of power down on the farm for the organization this season. The 22-year-old catcher spent most of his season between Single-A Fresno and High-A Spokane, but recently was promoted to Double-A Hartford to close out his season. Regardless of the uniform, Goodman has shown impressive power with 36 homers to go along with a .294 batting average and 106 RBI. The 36 homers are second behind Cardinals outfield prospect, Moises Gomez for the most in the minor leagues this season. Goodman can clearly hit for power early in his professional career, but he does have a tendency to swing-and-miss and that's something that he will need to improve on upon his ascension through the Rockies system. The Rockies also have catcher Drew Romo rising through the ranks and he is one of the organizations top prospects at the moment, which could mean a position change for Goodman in the future. Regardless, Goodman is a few years away from a potential big-league debut and remains a name for dynasty managers to file away.
