Houston’s Tank Dell Scores First ’24 Touchdown At Patriots
5 months agoAfter what has been a frustrating start to the season, Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell broke out Sunday at New England with seven catches for 57 yards and a touchdown on a team-high nine targets. The second-year receiver was involved early, finishing Houston's first drive with a two-yard touchdown reception, his first scoring play of the season. Houston will be without star wide receiver Nico Collins for at least three more weeks, so Dell's usage at New England could be a preview of the weeks to come. The former Houston Cougar will look for more production when the Texans travel to Green Bay in Week 7.

Tank Dell "On The Right Track" In His Recovery
1 month agoHouston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that wide receiver Tank Dell (knee) is "on the right track" in his recovery from a devastating knee injury that he suffered in 2024. "We'll see where he ends up," Ryans said. Dell has a long way to go in his recovery from a torn ACL, MCL and LCL, but it's nice to hear that things are going well early on. Despite Ryans' statement, there remains a pretty good chance that the 25-year-old won't be able to play at all in 2025 after needing multiple surgeries to fix the extensive damage to his left knee. And when the speedy deep threat does return for the Texans, he may never be the same. In addition to tearing all those ligaments, he dislocated his knee and suffered damage to his meniscus. In 14 games before his injury, Dell had 51 catches, 667 yards and three touchdowns on 81 targets. We'll continue to provide updates on Dell's long road to recovery

No Timetable For Tank Dell
2 months agoHouston Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said that it's too early to place a timetable on whether wide receiver Tank Dell (knee) will be able to play in 2025. Ryans won't speculate on whether the Texans will be searching for another receiver this offseason because of Dell's serious injury. In the Dec. 21 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the 25-year-old second-year wideout tore his ACL, MCL and LCL, dislocated his knee and suffered damage to his meniscus. He underwent the first of multiple surgeries last week, and it's very possible that he won't be able to play at all in the 2025 regular season. If Dell makes it back, he also might never be the same on the football field for the Texans as an explosive downfield threat in the passing attack. We should know more about his status for next season once training camp rolls around. Dell finished 2024 with 51 catches (81 targets) for 667 yards and three TDs in 14 games.

Tank Dell Undergoing His First Knee Surgery On Wednesday
2 months agoHouston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (knee), who suffered a dislocated left knee in addition to a torn ACL, MCL, and LCL and a damaged meniscus in the Week 16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, will undergo one of multiple surgeries this offseason on Wednesday. It will obviously be a very long road to recovery for the second-year wideout after the devastating injury. Because of the timing of the injury late in the year and the extensive damage to his knee, it's highly unlikely that Dell will be ready to go for the start of the 2025 regular season this fall. "Unfortunately, it has to be considered career threatening, but we all hope not career-ending," orthopedic surgeon David Chao said. It's far from a guarantee that Dell will even be able to play again next year, which will obviously make him one to avoid in fantasy drafts. The 25-year-old finished with 51 catches, 667 yards and three TDs in his second season before the injury.

Tank Dell Could Miss 2025 Season
3 months agoHouston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell (knee) tore his MCL, LCL and ACL in the Week 16 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday and also dislocated his knee and suffered meniscus damage. He has a long road of recovery ahead of him that will require multiple surgeries. "It would be great if he could participate at some point next season, but it's far from guaranteed he will play at any point next season. It's similar to what happened with Browns running back Nick Chubb. They're both knee dislocations, but not all knee dislocations are the same. This is a much more complicated surgery process," Dr. David Chao said. It's the second straight year that Dell's season has been cut short due to a serious leg injury. However, this one is much more serious and will affect his long-term fantasy value heading into 2025. Despite playing three more games in 2024, Dell wasn't as productive as he was in his rookie campaign, catching 51 of 81 targets for 667 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games.
