Hot Streak Continues for Andreas Athanasiou in Saturday's Win
6 years agoDetroit Red Wings forward Andreas Athanasiou picked up a goal and an assist in Saturday's shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes. It was Athanasiou's second consecutive multi-point game and put a cap on his five-game hot streak where he has scored six points. Athanasiou now has 10 points in 13 games and has been one of Detroit's most productive forwards. Although it is early, Athanasiou is scoring at a rate of .46 goals per game which could finally push him over the 20 goal plateau that he has flirted with each of his last two seasons. The streaky speedster will likely see his hot hand cool before long, but in the meantime, he holds solid value as an option in daily formats.
