Hideki Matsuyama Looks To Keep Irons Hot
4 years agoHideki Matsuyama, coming off a T22 finish in Dublin at the Workday Charity Open, will once again tee off at Muirfield Village. As we discussed last week, Matsuyama has had success here including a win in 2014 and two other Top-10 finishes in 2015 and 2019. In his last 10 rounds, Matsuyama is fifth in the field in strokes gained on approach and second in his last 20 rounds. This has been called a “second shot course” and with the rough slightly taller than last week, accuracy with approach shots will be at a premium. Matsuyama’s shortcoming will always be with the flatstick and last week was no exception, averaging a loss of 2.46 strokes putting per round. At $9,400 on DraftKings, inserting him into your lineup will allow for flexibility considering he was $10,000 last week.
