9 hours agoHideki Matsuyama has started the 2025 season strong, currently ranking first in the FedEx Cup standings after winning The Sentry and following up with a T16 finish at The Sony Open. He now shifts his focus to the Farmers Insurance Open, where he has enjoyed considerable success. Matsuyama has made eight straight cuts at this event, including a T13 finish in 2024 and a T9 in 2023. His ball-striking has been exceptional, ranking first on tour in strokes gained around the green and third in strokes gained from tee to green last season, two key areas for success this week. An often underrated part of Matsuyama's game is his scrambling, where he currently ranks sixth on tour.
