Hideki Matsuyama Eyeing 10th Tour Victory In Charlotte
7 months agoHideki Matsuyama was a popular selection in his last Tour start at the Masters, but he disappointed fantasy managers with a T38 finish. There should be no hesitation to go right back to the well with the 32-year-old Japanese star this week. Matsuyama's recent form is one of the best in the field, as prior to the Masters he picked up his ninth tour win at The Genesis Invitational, a T12 at the API, a T6 at THE PLAYERS Championship, and a T7 at the Valero Texas Open. From a statistical perspective, Matsuyama appears to be in line for another dominant week as well. Over the last 24 rounds, he ranks first in adjusted course fit, eighth in weighted approach play, ninth in approach from 200+ yards, first in weighted around-the-green play, fifth in bogey avoidance, and ninth in par 5 scoring. He's also gained strokes off-the-tee in five straight starts, and he's capable of spike putting weeks on any given course. Matsuyama could very well be in line to win his second Signature Event in the 2024 calendar year at Quail Hollow.
