6 years agoMilwaukee Brewers infielder Hernan Perez (hand, wrist) underwent surgery after the season to have the pisiform bone removed from his hand/wrist. He is good to go for the start of spring training and should be ready for the regular season. Perez will have a chance to win regular playing time at second base this spring, but he'll be competing with Cory Spangenberg and Tyler Saladino. He could wind up being a super-utility player once again, which makes it difficult to project his playing time. Perez, 28 in March, hit .253/.290/.386 with nine home runs, 29 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 316 at-bats last season. He had 27 combined homers the previous two seasons and even stole 34 bags in 2016, but he's more of an NL-only commodity because of his uncertain playing time.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
