Henry Davis Dealing With Minor Wrist Contusion
3 years agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates' prized catcher prospect Henry Davis (wrist) has been sidelined the past three games at Double-A Altoona with a minor wrist contusion. On Monday, the team gave an update on Davis's status, alerting The Athletic as to why he had been sidelined while also adding that he is expected to return at some point this next week. The 22-year-old is currently ranked as the 23rd overall prospect in the majors by MLB Pipeline and the No. 2 prospect in the Pirates' organization behind infielder Nick Gonzales. Davis began the year at High-A and mashed to the tune of a 1.035 OPS over 22 games prior to being promoted to Double-A. He has only appeared in two Double-A contests so far, but he's already hit his first Double-A homer.
