Henry Davis Back Behind The Plate For Pirates
6 months agoAfter being called back up from Triple-A Indianapolis, Pittsburgh Pirates catcher Henry Davis is back behind the dish on Tuesday and is batting eighth against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers and right-hander Tyler Glasnow. The Pirates sent the 24-year-old former first overall pick to the minors in early May after he started the year with a .162/.280/.206 slash line with no home runs, four RBI and 29 walks in his first 83 plate appearances of the 2024 season. Now that he's back, Davis will split playing time behind the dish with veteran Yasmani Grandal. It's a tough first matchup against Glasnow in his return to the Show, but Davis' prospect pedigree alone makes him deserving of a roster spot in at least deeper fantasy leagues. In 23 games at Indy, Davis went 24-for-81 (.296) with seven homers and 17 RBI.
