Heliot Ramos Makes Spring Debut
1 month agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Heliot Ramos (oblique) made his spring training debut on Tuesday. Ramos went 0-for-2 at the plate with a walk. Ramos was dealing with a minor oblique injury during the start of camp. However, seeing him make his debut in left field suggests he is past this injury and will not face any restrictions by Opening Day. The 25-year-old is expected to be the team's everyday left fielder in 2025. Ramos appeared in just 34 contests during the 2022 and 2023 but saw a drastic increase in playing time in 2024 as he logged 121 contests. Ramos posted a .269/.322/.469 slash line with 23 doubles and 22 long balls. He generated an elite .481 xSLG with a 47.5 percent hard-hit rate. However, he drew walks at a low 7.1 percent rate and struck out at a high 26.1 percent rate. Rams carries intriguing power-power upside heading into 2025.
