Hector Velazquez Takes Tough Loss on Sunday
6 years agoWith Chris Sale sidelined, the Boston Red Sox turned to reliever Hector Velazquez for a spot-start on Sunday and he delivered. A solo shot given up to Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Joey Wendle was the only blemish through four innings of work, but the Red Sox offense was shutout and saddled Velazquez with his first loss of the season. Velazquez has a 7-1 record with a 2.74 ERA across 65 2/3 innings this year, but his starts are too infrequent to make him a fantasy asset worth rostering.
