Hector Neris Secures First Save Of Season
7 years agoAfter the Philadelphia Phillies took a lead in the eighth inning off a solo home run from Nick Williams, the club sent closer Hector Neris out to lock up the final outs. The 28-year-old’s new season got off to an inauspicious start after allowing three runs in his first appearance. Since then, however, he’d toss two perfect innings, leading into Monday’s game with the club up by a run. Neris secured the first two outs before a hit put the winning run at the plate. He would strike out the final batter, however, to finish off the game, making that three consecutive scoreless innings in three appearances.
