Hector Neris Gives Up First Runs Of Spring
7 years agoAfter a strong first four outings to start spring training, Philadelphia Phillies closer Hector Neris struggled Saturday against the Tampa Bay Rays, taking a loss. The 28-year-old allowed three runs on three hits, also striking out two during his brief outing. Prior to Saturday's loss, Neris appeared in four games, allowing just two hits and striking out four during the process. The right-hander had his first prolonged season as closer of the club last year, converting 26 of his 29 save opportunities while posting a 4-5 record with a 3.01 ERA.
