6 years agoThe Kansas City Royals officially optioned pitcher Heath Fillmyer to Triple-A Omaha on Saturday. Fillmyer is/was considered to be in the running for the fifth starting role in the rotation, but the team has three scheduled off days in the first eight days of the season, so they're expected to kind of drag their feet about that role for the first two weeks this year. For now, Fillmyer is out, but he'll likely be back soon enough since KC's rotation looks like it will have more than its fair share of struggles. Fillmyer worked as a spot starter for the Royals last season, and he was mediocre at best. He should only be worth watching in AL-only leagues.--Billy Stonick - RotoBaller
